The tape "20 days in Mariupol" was created by members of the Associated Press team, who became the last international journalists in the surrounded Mariupol. They continued to work in the siege and recorded footage that later became the defining images of the war: the deaths of children, mass burials, a bombed maternity hospital and other horrors of Russian crimes.
"20 Days in Mariupol" is the directorial debut of Mstislav Chernov, a war correspondent (with experience in Syria, Nagorno-Karabakh, Libya, Iraq, Gaza Strip, Afghanistan), photographer, videographer and writer. Photographer Yevhen Maloletka and producer and journalist Vasylisa Stepanenko were also involved in the creation of the picture. For their work in the besieged Mariupol, they received the Pulitzer Prize, which is considered the most prestigious in the field of journalism. The film recently won the prestigious BAFTA Award in the nomination "Best Documentary".
The screening of "20 days in Mariupol" is already the second charity event by the film company "Arthouse Traffic" and the film association "Bavylonʼ13" in cooperation with the National Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine. Thanks to the January screening of the film "Infinity according to Florian" directed by Oleksiy Radinskyi, the organizers managed to attract about 30 hryvnias to collect for the repair of cars.
