On June 28, on the stage of the National Opera of Ukraine, see Semen Hulak-Artemovsky's opera "Zaporozhets za Danube".

The current version of Semyon Gulak-Artemovsky's opera "Zaporozhets za Danube" was created by the theater's chief director Anatoly Solovyanenko (stage version) and composer Myroslav Skoryk (musical version). The premiere of the opera took place in February 2015, and during the last seasons it has been popular with the audience.

On the basis of the leitmotifs of the piece, beloved and known since childhood, Myroslav Skoryk created a new overture, which from the first chords sets the dynamics of the subsequent stage action, and in the current version is very bright and lively. The production consists of two acts filled with humor, folk rites, folklore, bright dances, and most importantly, love for our native Ukraine.

Maria Levitska, the chief artist of the theater, was engaged in the scenography of the performance, as well as the costumes for the heroes of the opera. More than 250 costumes and almost 3000 square meters of painting were created especially for the performance.

In addition, the stage action is enriched with a number of choreographic compositions, which were staged by the artistic director of the theater's ballet troupe, Aniko Rekhviashvili. Choirmaster-producer – Bohdan Plish. Conductor-producer Mykola Dyadyura.
