In Kyiv, they are discussing the possibility of making public transport free, this follows from the statement of Kyiv City Council member Andrii Vitrenka.
The elected official noted that there are examples of free transport in European capitals, and Kyiv can follow their example. Vitrenko also said that this issue is being discussed with the head of the Department of Finance and other key figures, but the matter has not yet come to concrete actions.
Now in the Ukrainian capital, the fare on public transport varies from ₴8 to ₴15, while in Kharkiv, near the front, you can ride the metro for free.
