The pro-government majority of the Kyiv City Council did not vote to include in the agenda of the Kyiv City Council meeting the draft resolution on the impeachment of the President of Ukraine prepared by the "Batkivshchyna" faction.
Only 36 deputies of the Kyiv City Council voted to include the issue on the agenda. Volodymyr Bondarenko, the initiator of the decision project, the head of the "Batkivshchyna" faction in the Kyiv City Council, announced this.
"The "Solidarity" and "Unity" factions not only did not participate in the voting on this issue, they voted against it. Now it's obvious who wants to serve in front of the current President of Ukraine and Bankova," said Volodymyr Bondarenko.
We will remind, Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko excluded from the agenda of the Kyiv City Council meeting on November 21 the draft decision initiated by the "Fatherland" faction in the Kyiv City Council "On the appeal of the Kyiv City Council to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine regarding the legal regulation of the procedure for the removal of the President of Ukraine from office by impeachment." At the Presidium, the inclusion of this issue in the agenda was supported by six of its nine members, among them representatives of the "Svoboda", "Samopomich" and "Unity" factions.
Reference: The decision to remove the President of Ukraine from office by impeachment is adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine by at least three quarters of its constitutional composition. Consideration of this issue should be preceded by the conclusion of the Supreme Court of Ukraine that the acts of which the President of Ukraine is accused contain signs of treason or another crime.
Previously, it was assumed that such a conclusion should have been given by a special temporary investigative commission of the VRU after the investigation. The commission was to be formed from people's deputies of Ukraine, a special prosecutor and special investigators, whose task was to conduct an investigation into the circumstances of the President of Ukraine committing treason or another crime.
