Approximately 1,1 million residents of the capital can use preferential travel in Kyiv. This information was provided by the city's Department of Social and Veteran Policy.
The categories of persons entitled to preferential travel include:
participants in hostilities and people equated with them;
citizens with disabilities of groups I, II and III;
children with disabilities;
victims of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant;
persons caring for a person or child with a disability of group I;
other categories that have special benefits.
Thus, a significant number of Kyiv residents can take advantage of free or discounted public transport, which is part of the social support implemented by local authorities to improve living conditions for vulnerable segments of the population.
