Work on the Podilsko-Voskresensky bridge crossing continues. In particular, the builders finished installing three large metal structures in the direction of Naberezhno-Khreshchatytska Street. Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko stated this during an online briefing, answering questions received from the media. And also released a video about what is happening at the construction of the bridge.
"Work on the Podilsko-Voskresensky bridge crossing continues. Today, builders finished installing three large metal structures in the direction of Naberezhno-Khreshchatytska Street. The total weight of these runs is 2400 tons. They were installed using a floating pontoon equipped with super jacks," Vitaliy Klitschko said.
The process of installing the arched structure of the bridge in the design position is also underway - there are still 10 centimeters left. Specialists use powerful jacks that lower a huge span by millimeters. But they constantly monitor the load on the cables that hold the structure.
"And in the direction of Troeshchyna, supports for the future spans of the bridge are already ready. The arrangement of the embankment of the roadway in Rusanivske Gardens is also ongoing. There, by the way, the foundation for the future branch of the subway is being concreted in parallel," noted Vitaliy Klychko.
