The dough for verguns was prepared as a thin cake, cut into rectangles or rhombuses, in which an internal incision was made. Then they twisted the inside of the cut once or twice and fried it in boiling oil until golden. Verguns were prepared by girls at evening parties, housewives for carolers, midwives for grandchildren.
