Road workers in Kyiv started preventive treatment with anti-icing agents in advance of the onset of precipitation. The work was intensified during the rains. This is reported by the "Kyivavtodor" CC. At night, the processing of the street and road network did not stop. In total, 301 units of special equipment and 36 manual cleaning crews (272 workers) worked at night.
In addition, 4 thousand janitors are involved in the fight against ice.
As noted in the "Kyivavtodor" CC, the weather conditions were also difficult at night. Precipitation lasted until 06:00 in the morning at a temperature of about -1°C. Therefore, it was necessary to process the same sections of the street and road network several times. Wet snow was removed from main streets with the help of columns of special equipment.
Currently, all streets that are on the corporation's balance sheet have been cleaned and treated with anti-icing agents. Constant processing of sidewalks, stairs to underground and above-ground pedestrian crossings, and public transport stops continues.
In total, since the beginning of bad weather, road workers have used 2143,7 tons of salt, 99,6 tons of sand-salt mixture, 258,3 tons of liquid chlorides.
However, pedestrians near cafes, restaurants, and shops must be cleaned by the entrepreneurs themselves. Therefore, the city authorities appeal to them not to neglect the rules of the city improvement and to carry out treatment with anti-icing agents.
We will also remind you that according to the forecast of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, there will be ice in Kyiv in the morning and afternoon of December 11, and ice on the roads (Danger level I, yellow).
