Warm and sunny weather has set in in Ukraine, which has activated the seasonal harvest in local farms. This immediately triggered the mass ripening and decline in the price of most berries, although the overall price level remains relatively high due to spring crop losses.

Situation in retail chains (according to the Ministry of Finance)
For buyers who prefer supermarkets, analysts highlight the following features:
-
ATB: offers the lowest prices for bananas;
-
Novus: holds the cheapest position for apples (certain varieties from 19.99 UAH/kg);
-
Silpo: traditionally presents the widest assortment of fresh berries and exotic fruits.
What is getting cheaper and what is getting more expensive?
Trend towards cheaper prices
The massive release of strawberries and cherries from open ground on Ukrainian farms is driving down prices every day. Last week, Ukrainian cherries could already be found for 70–150 UAH/kg in the regions. Peaches and imported pears are also getting cheaper.
Price increase trend
The market recorded an increase in the maximum price level for blueberries and apricotsA slight increase in the price of apples is also expected in the near future, as stocks of last year's harvest in storage have practically run out.
Price forecast until the end of June
-
Strawberry: will continue to fall in price in the coming days due to peak supply on the market.
-
Cherries and apricots: Stabilization and significant "cooling" of prices is expected at the end of June, when the mass harvest of late varieties begins.
-
Import (bananas, citrus fruits): The value of these positions will directly depend on fluctuations in the hryvnia exchange rate against the dollar and euro.
Important factor: According to preliminary estimates by farmers, this year's harvest has been severely affected by weather conditions. Losses of apricots in Ukraine range from 40% to 60%, and peaches from 30% to 50% compared to the average annual figures, so the shortage of stone fruits will keep the price level higher than usual.
