The renovated Volodymyr hill will open before Kyiv Day, and later a number of other tourist facilities in the capital, where repair work is ongoing. Mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko wrote about this on his Facebook page.
"Kyiv is frolicking and preparing for the summer season. For utility workers, the spring and summer season is a time of intensive work. We repair the capital's roads, parks, iconic tourist facilities. Today I visited and checked some of them," Klitschko noted.
He emphasized that there is now a lot of work on Volodymyrska Hill - both on weekends, in the mornings, and in the evenings.
"This is one of Kyiv's business cards and, I hope, the residents of Kyiv will be pleasantly surprised by the updated recreation area," wrote the capital's mayor.
According to Vitaliy Klychko, they also plan to open new stairs on Starokyivska Gora from Landscape Alley to the Honchari–Kozhumyaki tract soon. He noted that there is also active work going on today.
"In the future, we plan to extend the stairs to connect Landscape Alley, Artists' Alley with Volodymyr Hill and the Arch of Friendship of Peoples into a single tourist route," Vitaliy Klitschko emphasized.
He noted that Kyiv residents and tourists will see not only new stairs at Pejazhka, but also reconstruction and improvement of the territory, strengthening of the slope. Vitaliy Klitschko assured that it will be a modern and comfortable recreation area in the historical center. In particular, with observation decks, comfortable benches, a public restroom, Wi-Fi access areas, video surveillance, new modern lighting. "Let's make Kyiv more beautiful and comfortable!" - wrote Vitaliy Klitschko.
