The Verkhovna Rada has registered two bills that are intended to regulate the use of electric scooters, unicycles, and hoverboards. They want to punish the first violation with a fine of 1700 UAH, and the second violation with confiscation of the vehicle., writes Glavcom.
The parliament has introduced draft law No. 15284 on the features of the use of small electric vehicles and the related bill No. 15283, which concerns administrative liability. The first document is intended to determine the legal status of such vehicles and prescribe how they can be driven on roads and streets.
The second bill proposes to amend the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses. It concerns punishment for violating the rules for using electric scooters and other similar means of transportation.
The initiators of the documents were Anna Skorokhod, Lyudmila Marchenko, Heorhiy Mazurashu, and Mykola Tyshchenko. Both projects are currently under development.
For the first violation, a fine of UAH 1700 is proposed. For a second violation, a fine of UAH 3400 and confiscation of the electric vehicle is proposed, and for the third violation, a fine of UAH 17,000, confiscation of the vehicle, and corrective work is proposed.
