Free Azov illustrations appeared on pizza boxes from the Kyiv restaurant Kometa. The restaurant donates 15% of each pizza in such a box to the Escort Service of the 12th Special Forces Brigade "Azov" of the National Guard.
Author of the illustrations — Kateryna Prokopenko, supervisor NGO "Association of Families of Defenders of Azovstal" (Azovstal Families), wife of Azov commander Denys Prokopenko (Redisa) and illustrator known online under the pseudonym Goat Rohata.
Special illustrations for the third anniversary of the captivity were placed on the establishment's pizza boxes Kometa — everyone who orders a whole pizza or slice to take away or to go automatically contributes to the work Support Services of the 12th Special Forces Brigade "Azov" NGU. 15% of each such order is transferred to the fund. These funds are allocated for the rehabilitation of fighters who have recently returned from captivity, who were injured as a result of hostilities, and support for the families of fighters of the 12th Special Forces Brigade "Azov" of the National Guard. recently returned from captivity, and financial support for the families of Azovstal prisoners of war.
The idea of the Azovstal Families x Kometa collaboration was born from the realization that there is a dog in the visual history of both. For Kometa, it is the dog logo, and for Azovstal Families, it is Kateryna's famous illustration, which depicts her dog Kushon with the slogan Pets for Azov.
"This is just another way to remind us of the important thing - the return of our soldiers from captivity. Having a clear civic position has always been important to us. Business is able to exist thanks to our soldiers, and we must never forget that," shared by the co-owners of the capital's Kometa cafe, Lyubov Tsybulska and Mykyta Moskalenko.
"It is important for me that the struggle for the heroes who saved our peace continues through various forms and meanings. The defenders of Mariupol cannot currently win freedom for themselves. They are experiencing the most terrible torments that we cannot imagine. I want us all to think about them the same way they did about us back in 2022, faced with a hopeless situation - encirclement, and in the end - captivity. And all for our sake, so that we can continue to live. 3 years of captivity have passed, not everyone was lucky enough to return, their relatives are still waiting, conscious people still come out to Sunday rallies in support of the heroes. It is our duty to do everything possible to release the prisoners, to remember those who died in the war and in captivity," comments the head of the NGO "Association of Families of Azovstal Defenders" and illustrator Kateryna Prokopenko.
Illustrations from the series are also available in the form of stickers — you can get them for any donation at the Kometa cafe at 15a Reitarska.
And the boxes can be used as slogan carriers at the Sunday Free Azov events.
You can order a pizza or slice of pizza in a Free Azov package during May, June, and July.
