The overhaul of Povitroflotsky Avenue is planned to be completed by Independence Day. This was announced by the mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko during the night inspection of the overhaul of the avenue.
"We took on the task of repairing 300 km of roads and driveways this year. We work 24 hours a day, because in the summer the temperature conditions allow us to repair roads efficiently and quickly. Now the first layer of asphalt is being laid on Povitroflotsky Avenue, the mayor of the capital noted. - The last repair of this highway took place in 1995, that is, more than 20 years ago. The length of the section being repaired is more than 3 km. We plan that all work here will be finished by Independence Day," Vitaliy Klitschko noted.
The mayor emphasized that Povitroflotskyi Avenue is an important transport highway that connects the airport "Kyiv" (Zhulyany) with the city center. Therefore, many tourists who come to Kyiv are one of the first to see this road and get their first impressions of the capital. And many people live in the Solomyansk district and drive this road every day.
Vitaliy Klitschko also emphasized that the contractor provides a 5-year guarantee for each majorly repaired road in the capital and undertakes to correct defects at his own expense, if any are found.
This year, major repairs will be carried out on the 3,1 km section of Povtroflotsky Avenue, from Sevastopol Square to Povtroflotsky overpass. In particular, as part of the capital repair, the avenue will be equipped with a two-layer road surface and sidewalks.
