There were no separate expenditures for these purposes in the city budget, except for the fulfillment of its guarantees regarding co-financing – a subvention from the city budget to the state budget in the amount of 200 million hryvnias. Only in April, the Kyiv Council additionally allocated almost 25 million hryvnias for holding the contest (19 million for video surveillance in locations, 5 million for the purchase of ballot boxes, etc.)," said Prokopiv.
The secretary of the Kyiv City Council adds that according to the information of the Tourism Department of the KMDA, according to the tickets sold, about 20 foreign guests visited the capital together with official delegations. All these things will remain with the community of the capital," writes Prokopiv.
In addition, he stated: "The return of our state to the cultural map of the world is not a demonstration that we closed our eyes to the conflict in Donbas. This is proof that Ukraine is alive and able to overcome obstacles and challenges. The stage of the competition, in turn, became not a "banquet during the plague", but an opportunity to declare oneself to a powerful European audience, which is more than 200 million viewers."
