On the eve of the mayoral elections of Kyiv, the current mayor of the capital, Vitaliy Klitschko, allegedly tapped the phone of his potential opponent, Andriy Palchevskyi. The victim himself told about this in a video message on his own page on the Facebook social network, UNN reports.

According to the mayoral candidate Palchevskyi, Klitschko stole his phone in a restaurant.
Palchevsky claims that he was relaxing at the restaurant with friends when Klitschko ran up to the waiter, grabbed his opponent's phone and promised to hand it over.
"Return the phone that you stole yesterday from the table where I was sitting with the company... quickly ran up, grabbed it from the waiter and said that you will hand it over," Palchevskyi was indignant. He claims that the device was never returned to him, which is why the politician was forced to write a statement to the police.
At the same time, Klitschko himself wrote on his page in the social network that he was driving along Yaroslaviv Val Street and saw Palchevsky with his "companion" at one of the tables. He claims that he was walking back when the cafe was already closing and noticed a waiter who, with a forgotten phone in his hands, was looking for its owner. Klitschko assures that "using a deductive method, he established that this is the phone of Andriy Palchevsky's companion," and promised the waiter to hand over the device to the owner.
Instead, Palchevsky refutes Klitschko's version, believing that the incumbent mayor simply wanted to poke around in his phone.
"Actually, he thought it was mine. After all, it's good to get your opponent's phone on the eve of the elections, stick your nose in there and rummage there," says the candidate for city leaders.
He added that the waiter had already been interviewed by law enforcement officers.
"According to the words of a waiter named Sasha, who wanted to pick up a mobile phone left on the table, it looked like this. The mayor of the city ran up, took the phone, said that it inspires confidence in Kyivans and will hand it over to where it is needed. At the same time, the waiter demanded from Klitschko not to take the phone, but the mayor insisted," the politician claims, adding that he himself would never have believed that the mayor of a millionaire city is capable of "jumping out of his jeep, quickly running up and stealing someone's phone."
Palchevsky is sure that the law enforcement officers can classify Klitschko's actions as fraud or robbery.
"One has already stolen hats and become president, but I hope that Klitschko will not get away with it," he emphasized.
