Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko supported petition with a call to liquidate the municipal enterprise “Kyivzelenbud”, but only partially. This is stated in his response to the appeal, which received 6 thousand votes.

“Considering (…) that the electronic petition (…) does not contain any facts of violations of environmental legislation by the Kyivzelenbud construction company, I support the electronic petition in terms of preserving green spaces in the city of Kyiv,” Klitschko said in his response.

The petitioners, among other things, demanded the liquidation of the Kyivzelenbud KP due to the systematic destruction of healthy trees in the capital, as well as an independent audit of the company's activities. The petition cited several examples of the destruction of green spaces by municipal workers in recent years. Among them is the cutting down of trees near the Zelensky estate on Konyskoho Street.

The response to the petition states that “Kyivzelenbud” operates within the framework of current legislation, removing only dead and emergency trees after inspections by the environmental inspection. The municipal enterprise denies the systematic destruction of healthy trees, providing examples of replacing removed poplars with new trees on Konysky Street and the absence of recorded violations in Holosiivskyi Park and on Peyzazhna Alley.

It is also noted that some of the territories mentioned in the petition (KPI Park, Teremky tract) are not on the balance sheet of Kyivzelenbud, and other balance sheet holders are responsible for them.
