The "Coca-Cola Beverages Ukraine" company and the public union "Osvitoria" announced the launch of the Program for the Development of Socially Vulnerable Youth at the national level. During the 2016/2017 academic year, the program will be implemented in 5 regions of Ukraine — Donetsk, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Lviv, and Zakarpattia.

The launch of the Program took place last year, when the "Emerald City" social rehabilitation center in Sviatohirsk (Donetsk region) introduced the iLearn educational project, created for the systematic preparation of 11th-grade students to successfully pass the final exams. Online courses of iLearn correspond to the program of external examinations and contain video lectures, computer tests, materials for self-training and webinars with lectures by university teachers. The iLearn program made it possible to significantly increase the number of graduates of the "Emerald City" who entered universities or technical schools - 52% of the program participants became students today.

Organizers and participants of the program

In 2016, Coca-Cola Beverages Ukraine opened 8 computer classes in boarding schools that joined the program and provided graduates with a technical base for training. At the first stage, the public union "Osvitoria" plans to cover 5 boarding schools with the iLearn course. "Coca-Cola in Ukraine consistently implements a strategy of helping socially vulnerable youth. This project is aimed at creating prerequisites for better education and decent employment for future graduates of boarding schools and orphanages.

"We are setting ourselves a rather ambitious goal: by 2020, we will help 25 socially vulnerable young men and women get a better future," emphasized Andriy Bublyk, Director of Public Relations and State Institutions at Coca-Cola Beverages Ukraine . By implementing a comprehensive approach, the organizers took care to interest children and help them go through the learning process more easily. Graduates first receive all the necessary information about the external study program, conditions of admission and study at various institutions, as well as the popularity of specialties and their demand on the labor market. Before starting to master the subjects, the graduates undergo testing to identify the personal abilities of each person in order to decide on the direction of the future profession. Personal consultations with a psychologist and motivational trainings are also part of the program. "We work with young people who have the least chances, create opportunities and give practical modern tools for those who are ready to learn. By joint efforts together with partners, the management of boarding schools, we help talented students from boarding schools, orphanages and low-income families to acquire academic knowledge to successfully pass the external examination and enroll in a budget form of education," said Zoya Lytvyn, Head of the "Osvitoria" public union.

By the way, about the Public Union "OSVITORIA". "Osvitoria" is a non-profit public union whose goal is the development and reform of education in Ukraine.
