Dear Kyiv residents and guests of our invincible capital! The Kyiv1 team sincerely congratulates you on Vyshyvanka Day!
Today, the streets of our ancient Kyiv are blooming with special colors. Khreshchatyk, Podil, cozy parks and even subway cars are filled with people in embroidered shirts. And this is no longer just a beautiful tradition or an element of festive wardrobe.
Today, in May 2026, our embroidery is our spiritual body armor, our genetic code, and a symbol of our identity, which the enemy is so fiercely but in vain trying to destroy. Each cross on the canvas, each unique ornament, is the history of our ancestors, their strength, faith, and will to Victory, engraved in the threads.
We wear embroidered shirts to show the whole world: we exist, we stand, we are proud of who we are. Special respect and gratitude today to those who wear embroidered shirts under camouflage and defend our right to live on their land, in their free capital.
Dear readers! Wherever you are today — rushing to work through Kyiv traffic jams, donating to another military training camp for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, drinking coffee at the Golden Gate, or far from home — wear your vyshyvanka. Feel this connection of generations and the incredible strength that is within each of us.
Dress up, take pictures, share warmth, and remember: we will definitely win, because our roots are deep and our spirit is indomitable.
With respect and love to each of you,
Editorial team of the information portal "Kyiv1"
