Kyiv Municipal Enterprises reported on the arrangement of new additional green areas — mini-squares — in all districts of the capital. The initiative, implemented for the second year in a row, is aimed at creating convenient and accessible green areas in urban neighborhoods where residents lack space for recreation.

Places and principles of arrangement

The location of the mini-squares was chosen taking into account residents' requests and real needs. They appeared near public transport stops, metro stations and densely populated residential complexes, as well as on the sites of dismantled small architectural forms (MAFs).

When landscaping, preference was given to plants resistant to urban conditions, such as ornamental grasses and perennial flowers, which contributes to improving the ecological condition.

For the comfort of residents, the territories are equipped with comfortable benches (including barrier-free ones), walking paths, and decorative landscaping.
