On Tuesday, February 24, temporary traffic restrictions and changes to public transport will be introduced in the capital. The measures are related to visits by foreign guests to mark the fourth anniversary of the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

This was reported by the State Protection Department (SPD) and the Kyiv City State Administration.

Metro operation

In the morning, the central metro station will operate with restrictions:

  • Maidan Nezalezhnosti Station: closed to passenger entry and exit to 11: 00.

  • Transfer node: The transition between Maidan Nezalezhnosti and Khreschatyk stations will operate in usual mode.

Changes in ground transport operations

Due to street closures in the city center, a number of bus routes will change their traffic patterns:

  • Bus No. 6TR: will run from the Minsk massif to the Povitroflotsky overpass (under the number No. 6AR).

  • Bus No. 62: will run from the Botanical Garden to the Central Railway Station (under the number No. 62A).

  • Buses No. 110 and No. 111: will move through Podil (under the numbers No. 110A and No. 111A).

  • Bus No. 114: will change the route to No. 114A.

Important for drivers: road safety

In addition to restrictions due to official measures, the situation on Kyiv's roads remains difficult.

  • Ice: Due to weather conditions, the capital's roads have been covered with a layer of ice. Drivers are urged to be as careful as possible, keep a safe distance, and avoid sudden maneuvers.

  • Overlapping in the center: The UDO will provide protection for heads of state and international organizations, so short-term traffic stops on the city's main highways are possible throughout the day.

Advice: If you are planning a trip through the center of Kyiv on February 24, we recommend leaving in advance or using the metro (except for the Maidan Nezalezhnosti station until 11:00).
