During the summer, risks to the capital's life support come not only from the energy sector. One of the main threats due to constant shelling could be damage to the water supply system.
This was warned about on the air of the KYIV24 TV channel by Stanislav Ignatiev, Chairman of the Council of the Ukrainian Renewable Energy Association.
"The enemy will try to leave Kyiv without water, and every resident must prepare for this scenario. If in the case of electricity, the majority is already equipped with charging stations such as EcoFlow, then the probable lack of water must be approached even more carefully," Ignatiev noted.
The expert recalled that the main source of water supply for most districts of the capital is Desnyanska water supply station. It remains a potential target for Russian attacks. In this regard, Kyiv residents are strongly advised to always keep an intact supply of water at home for several days.
How much water do you need to prepare? (Calculation per person per day):
-
Drinking water: no less 2 liters for a day.
-
Technical water: from 3–4 liters per day (for hygiene and cooking).
The specialist urges to avoid panic. According to him, city services and energy workers are ready for events of any nature, and in case of damage to the infrastructure, water supply will be promptly restored. However, a basic supply formed at home will help to comfortably wait out the time required for repair work.
The material was prepared based on the results of the broadcast of the TV channel “KYIV24”.
