In the first seven months of 2025, DTEK Kyiv Electric Grids installed almost 28 “smart” meters. All of them are part of the automated commercial electricity metering system (ACSM). Thanks to it, “smart” meters themselves transmit readings of consumed kilowatt-hours without intervention by the residents of the premises.

DTEK Kyiv Electric Grids is developing ASKOE in Kyiv as part of the investment program, which is approved annually by the state regulator NEURC. In an apartment building, ASKOE is installed for all residents at the same time. For residents, the implementation of this system
provides for the free replacement of the old meter with a new "smart" one.

“From January to July 2025, our specialists installed almost 28 thousand more “smart” meters in the homes of Kyiv residents. The metering devices automatically collect and transmit data on electricity consumption. This allows our company not only to understand the volume of customers’ electricity consumption online, but also to detect accidents, overloads, equipment malfunctions and eliminate them more quickly,” commented Denys Bondar, General Manager
Director of DTEK Kyiv Electric Grids.

The implementation of the ASKOE is part of the project to modernize Kyiv's energy infrastructure - Smart Grid "Networks of the Future". The company plans to replace old meters with "smart" ones for all customers by 2034.
