The medics of the capital received 24 new sanitary cars with modern medical equipment for the needs of emergency medical care in the capital, as well as an operative, specially equipped, special medical car for the rapid delivery of necessary medicines or vaccines. A refrigerator box is built into the car module for storing medical drugs at low temperatures. The total value of the purchased cars is more than 50 million hryvnias. They are equipped with everything necessary to provide primary emergency care and modern equipment for superficial diagnostics.

"The same fast ones work in Europe. In the new cars, everything is provided for the comfortable work of both the driver and the medical staff, and for the comfortable stay of the patient. They are equipped with the most modern medical equipment. A European city should have an ambulance of a European level, - said the mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko. - I am very glad that we found an opportunity to purchase this new, much-needed equipment. And that every year we increase the fleet of such cars."

He reminded that during 2016-2017, about 40 million hryvnias were annually allocated to finance emergency medical care in the capital. In 2016, the city handed over 100 ambulances to medics. Last year – 15 special sanitary cars with modern medical equipment. Also, capital and ongoing repairs were carried out at the Center for Emergency Medical Aid and Disaster Medicine in the city of Kyiv in the amount of over UAH 5 million.

Klitschko also congratulated the workers of the capital's health care sector on the professional holiday - the Day of the medical worker, which they will celebrate on June 17, and presented the best doctors with thanks from the mayor.

"Your daily work is extremely important. You save people's health and lives. The quality and timeliness of assistance Kyiv residents will receive depends on your professionalism and working conditions. And our task is to create all the necessary components for this, so that both medical workers and patients feel the changes in the health care system. Gradually, step by step, we are doing everything to ensure that the capital's medical industry develops, and doctors work in decent conditions," Vitaliy Klitschko said.

According to the mayor, in 2018, almost UAH 9 billion is provided for health care in the city budget, which is UAH 600 million more than last year. These funds will be used to increase communal allowances for the capital's doctors, to repair medical facilities and purchase new modern equipment and special vehicles.
