25 performances of different Kyiv theaters are applying for the 2016th anniversary theater award "Kyiv Pectoral-55". The award ceremony will take place March 27, 2017 at 17:00 p.m. in the Column Hall of the KMDA.
"Kyiv Pectoral" is an award of Ukraine in the field of theater art, founded in 1992 by the Union of Theater Actors of Ukraine and the Main Department of Culture of the City of Kyiv (Department of Culture of the Executive Body of the Kyiv City Council). The direct founders of "Kyiv Pectoral" were Mykola Gubenkov, Mykola Rushkovskyi, Timur Ibraimov and Mykhailo Chemberzhi (head of the Arts Committee).
The first award ceremony took place on March 27, 1993. According to tradition, the award ceremony is timed to celebrate International Theater Day. The laureate is awarded with a golden statuette, an honorary diploma and a cash prize.
