Three people were detained in Kyiv who were offering those who wanted to postpone passing the military medical commission. This was reported by police.
How the scammers operated
Three Kyiv residents (two organizers and an intermediary) suggested that the conscript influence the VLK doctors. According to the plan, they would not put a mark on the surgeon's examination due to health reasons.
The man had to pay $1,6 for this.
They also promised to help this man later obtain another summons to the military medical board, with a delay of one and a half to two months. This would give him the opportunity to prepare documents proving his unfitness for service.
The defendants demanded a thousand dollars for this.
What threatens them?
All three were detained. Those detained face up to eight years in prison.
“The actions of the organizers of the scheme are qualified under Part 2 of Article 28, Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – obtaining an unlawful benefit for oneself for influencing a decision-making process by a person authorized to perform state functions, combined with the extortion of such a benefit, committed in a prior conspiracy by a group of persons,” the police noted.
The intermediary was reported under suspicion under Part 5 of Article 27, Part 2 of Article 28, Part 3 of Article 369-2 (accomplice in receiving a bribe).
They face up to eight years in prison with confiscation of property.
