State of the restaurant market in Ukraine
While McDonald's is investing and creating jobs (about 100 new vacancies at this establishment), the market in general is going through difficult times:
-
Wave of closures: In Kyiv, work was stopped for about 13–14% of institutions.
-
Who is under attack: 75% of closed outlets are small businesses (coffee shops, bakeries, shawarma). Large chains have proven to be more resilient.
-
Causes of the crisis:
-
High costs for electricity and generators.
-
Decrease in purchasing power (people save on take-away coffee).
-
Mobilization and population outflow.
-
Dismantling of MAFs.
-
Visnovok: The opening of this format by McDonald's is a powerful signal to the market. The international giant demonstrates faith in the Ukrainian economy, combining modern eco-standards with the strict requirements of martial law.
