On Thursday, 23 April, an exhibition project will begin work at the National Center "Ukrainian House" in Kyiv "Chernobyl. Shelter Object"The exhibition is dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the largest man-made disaster in the history of mankind.

What is the exhibition about?

The project proposes to look at Chernobyl not only as an exclusion zone, but as a place that has continued to live and transform over the past forty years.

Key elements of the exhibition:

  • Chronicle of events: Documentary evidence from the moment of the 1986 accident and the heroism of the liquidators to modern threats — in particular, the hit of a Russian drone in a new secure confinement in February 2025.

  • Cultural code: Unique materials about the heritage of Polissya and little-known pages of the region's Jewish history.

  • Artistic interpretation: Works by prominent Ukrainian artists, including Maria Prymachenko, Viktor Zaretskyi and Ada Rybachuk.
