The Ukrainian studio Sensorama Lab created the VR application "Kyiv: from morning to dawn" for a virtual trip to iconic, but still unknown to many, places of the capital of Ukraine. During the VR tour, participants spend a day in spring Kyiv — visit six of its most unusual places and become direct participants in the events taking place there. You can take a virtual tour of the city using the Lenovo Explorer VR helmet by downloading the application for free from the site lenovo.ua/vrkyiv

The virtual tour "Kyiv: from morning to dawn" creates a feeling of real presence on the tour and is designed to be completed in more than 25 minutes. The route covers six attractions: the Ukrainian Radio Sound Recording House, the Kyiv Bicycle Track, the UNIT City Technopark, the Podol Theater, the Platform Art Factory, and the National Library named after Vernadskyi.
"Kyiv: from morning to dawn" is a full-fledged interactive VR content, which was created by the Ukrainian studio Sensorama Lab for four months. To realize the idea, the team conducted photo and video shoots with the participation of real actors in the theater and musicians in the House of Sound Recording, made three-dimensional photo scanning, voiceover, created 3D models and animation.

The VR application was voiced by well-known Kyiv tour guides — author of urban tours, connoisseur of secret places, founder of "Interesting Kyiv" Arseniy Finberg, and keeper of the romance of ancient Kyiv streets, author of walking tours of historical Kyiv, Olena Oros. They introduce the user to the city and talk about interesting places in the same way as on their excursions, immersing the participant in the secrets and secrets of Kyiv.

During the excursion, the participant will be able to attend an orchestra rehearsal and act as a conductor in the House of Recording, become a designer and assemble the super-technological bicycle "Aeneas" on the bicycle track, and take part in an intellectual quiz at the National Library. Also, the user of the VR application will visit the Courage Bazaar India festival at the Art Factory, will be able to feel the atmosphere of the performance at the Theater on Podil and get a role in it, as well as see how the Ukrainian "Silicon Valley" - UNIT City lives and develops. During the tour, the user of the VR application will complete tasks and participate in the game, after which he can receive real prizes.

The presentation of the virtual tour "Kyiv: from morning to dawn" took place on August 7, 2018 in Technopark UNIT City. Attendees were able to experience the tour and the app using Lenovo Explorer VR helmets and powerful Legion Y520 gaming laptops. The Lenovo Explorer helmet allows you to work with VR applications for a long time thanks to its high resolution (2880 x 1440), simple connection, light weight and convenient design. It is equipped with two movement controllers. The helmet's built-in sensors automatically track the movement of the controllers when the user holds them, giving more freedom in virtual worlds and games. The Lenovo Explorer helmet allows you to enjoy a variety of virtual reality content: from educational to entertainment.

The application will be available for all helmets on the Windows Mixed Reality platform, and will be ported to other platforms in the near future. You can download the virtual tour application "Kyiv: From Morning to Dawn" from anywhere in the world from the Microsoft Store and Steam. The PC or laptop requirements to use the app meet the minimum requirements for Windows Mixed Reality, and you will need 9 GB of free disk space to download the app.
