On December 12, 2016, the Kyiv City Council decided to create a recreation park "Sovsky Park" between Ivan Pulyu and Boris Garin streets in the Solomyansky district of Kyiv.
The corresponding plot of land with an approximate area of 8 hectares is a green zone where, after its improvement, residents of the "Turetske Misechko" and "Sovki" microdistricts will be able to spend their leisure time.
At the request of Kyiv residents, the deputies also granted the status of a public square to a number of plots of land in four districts of the capital (the largest – in the Dnipro district):
- on the street Plekhanov (green spaces for recreation of the residents of the Livoberezhny massif and Mykilska Slobidka should be preserved here);
- on the street Florence, near buildings No. 5, No. 12-A and buildings on St. Raisy Okipnoi, 5-B, 5-A, 7-A (there is currently a children's playground on this site, but the area is littered and unkempt);
- between residential buildings on the street 16 and ul. Tampere, 15;
- on the street Krakowska, 11;
- between residential buildings on the street Builders, 38/14, 36, 34/1;
- on the street Raiduzhnii - along building No. 4 (near the church, kindergarten, school and Silpo store);
- near building 15-B on Perova Blvd.;
- on the street Andriia Malyshka, 29-B (where there are green spaces and an abandoned playground).
Also, the status of a public square was granted to land plots: on the street Kudryashova, 2-4 in Solomyansky district, on Ave. Mykoly Bazhana, 10, 12 - in Darnytskyi, on the street Zlatoustivska, between houses 28, 30, 32 - in Shevchenkivskiy and on the street. Dzherelny, opposite buildings No. 3 and 6/5 - in Obolonskyi.
On these territories, it is planned to plant new green areas, restore the grass cover, organize watering of lawns, beautify and make them comfortable for recreation.
