February 24 – "Taras Shtonda invites..." concert. On the occasion of the singer's 50th birthday and 25 years of creative activity.
The name of People's Artist of Ukraine Taras Shtonda is known far beyond the borders of Ukraine, as the singer is deservedly called one of the best basses of modern opera. His voice is compared to Chaliapin's. And the artist himself believes that "Chalyapin has been living inside him for more than 30 years."
The love of music was instilled in little Taras by his parents - amateur musicians, and the first landmarks in the world of music were arias recorded on records, which the young talent learned before he was familiar with all the intricacies of vocal skill. The boy's "repertoire" included Manrico's aria from "The Troubadour", and the duet of Odarka and Karas (for both) from "Zaporozhets za Danube", romances from the repertoire of Boris Shtokolov. But Fyodor Chaliapin has always been and remains an idol.
Oddly enough, at the age of 7, Taras fell silent, being shy to sing. Only after graduating from the school named after Glier and entering the Kyiv State Conservatory named after P. I. Tchaikovsky (class of Galina Sukhorukova), he gradually began to "open up" in the vocal genre.
While still a student, Taras Shtonda made his debut on the stage of the National Opera of Ukraine in the part of Gremin in "Eugene Onegin". In the same 1992, he became a soloist of the theater.
Behind the singer's shoulders - participation in numerous international competitions and festivals, performance of the main roles of the bass repertoire on the stage of the National Opera, tours around the world, work with the most famous conductors of our time.
