Experienced craftsmen at the Darnytsia tram depot are working tirelessly to update the city's tram fleet. This year, the third car of the famous type Tatra T3 is undergoing major repairs, which significantly extends its life and improves comfort for passengers.
As Tetyana Tarasko, the acting general director of Kyivpastrans, said, all work is carried out by the depot staff themselves. This is real teamwork, where each stage has its own importance.
What has already been done?
- Ultrasonic diagnostics of the body was performed.
- Metalworking and welding work has been performed.
- The paintwork has been updated.
- Electrical equipment has been replaced.
- The heating system has been modernized.
- A new driver's control panel has been installed.
- Tinted windows and sturdy stainless steel stairs appeared.
What else lies ahead?
The interior is currently being renovated: the ceiling is being installed, the handrails and comfortable passenger seats are being replaced, and the fiberglass wall cladding is being updated.
The next steps include the installation of modern energy-saving lighting and a passenger information system. The stairs will receive safe yellow warning stripes. And the final touch will be the installation of an air conditioning system, which will make the journeys even more pleasant.
Interestingly, the Darnytsia depot is already preparing a fourth tram for repair, and in parallel, similar work is being carried out at the Podilskyi and Shevchenkivskyi tram depots. Each such overhaul adds more to the trams. 10 years impeccable service, ensuring reliable transportation and comfort for all residents of Kyiv.
