School No. 334 was opened in Darnytsky District - a new, most modern school in Ukraine. Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko was present at the opening, who congratulated the children and teachers on the start of the school year. The mayor also started the first lesson for first graders and inquired about the children's dreams for the future.
"I want to congratulate the first-graders on the first bell. This is a holiday that you will always remember in your life. And to congratulate each student on the fact that you will study at this most modern school in Ukraine. And I also congratulate the teachers and parents: our children go to the best school in Ukraine, which is a model and standard for all educational institutions in the country," said Vitaliy Klychko.
The mayor handed over the symbolic key to the directorate of the Intellect elementary school and lyceum. Vitaliy Klitschko also inspected the classrooms and premises of the new school.
In his comments to journalists, he reminded that the capital authorities are doing everything possible to create proper conditions for quality education in Kyiv.
About 334 children will be able to study in the 1,5th school. The building will house an elementary school and the "Intellect" lyceum.
"The school has all the necessary equipment and technology, so that children study comfortably and acquire a European-level education. In particular, the teacher's workplace is equipped with a computer, in addition to the usual blackboard, the classrooms have large interactive displays for viewing video materials. There are also special rooms for learning foreign languages, a dance studio, a music and singing studio, 3 sports halls, a medical department, shower rooms, and a psychologist's office. The primary school has separate play classes and modern party-transformers. The school is energy efficient. It has autonomous heating, which will be carried out by a system of heat pumps," said the mayor of Kyiv.
The building is also equipped with a "smart home" system, which automatically adjusts the temperature of the school premises depending on whether people are in the room and what the temperature is outside. The building has additional insulation and energy-efficient LED lighting.
"We are working to ensure that all metropolitan schools are of this model!" - emphasized the mayor.
Thus, by the end of the year, the capital authorities plan to complete the reconstruction with additions in two more capital schools - in Bykivno and Holosiivskyi district. Also, in 2018, the city authorities planned to open 8 kindergartens (1 newly built and 7 reconstructed). Three kindergartens have already been opened. Vitaliy Klitschko emphasized that in the last four years, 7 schools and 19 kindergartens were built or completely reconstructed in the capital.
