A children's music school will be built using the latest technologies in the Podilsky District at 5 Svobody Avenue, which will be able to accommodate 160 students at the same time. The corresponding order of the KMDA was signed.
The project envisages the construction of a three-story building with classrooms and two concert halls.
The client of the works is the Podil District State Administration in the city of Kyiv, which must select the general design and contracting construction organizations, and submit the design documentation and executive drawings for review to the Department of Urban Planning and Architecture for entry into the capital's urban planning cadastre database. Land legal issues will be resolved in accordance with current legislation. The financing of the construction will be carried out at the expense of budget funds - within the framework of the Program of Economic and Social Development of the City of Kyiv for 2018-2020.
The children's music school No. 12 was founded in 1964 and was located in the premises of secondary school No. 34. In 1994, in connection with the reconstruction of the building, the music school was temporarily moved to the 2nd floor of ZHEK No. 704 in a room converted for educational classes. On November 8, 2007, the Kyiv City Council made a decision to grant a plot of land to the Kyiv Children's Music School No. 12 for the construction, operation and maintenance of a children's music school on Ave. Svobody, 5 in Podilsky district. And in 2009, a state act was obtained for the right to permanent use of this land plot.
Currently, 2631 students receive specialized music, art, and choreographic education in schools of aesthetic education, of which 2182 are funded by the budget and 449 are funded by self-supporting groups. Currently, the competition for some music schools (No. 12, No. 31, No. 35, S. Turchak School of Arts) is more than 10 people per place.
