A wave of announcements about the sale of pleasure and passenger ships, which before the full-scale invasion provided excursion and entertainment trips along the Dnieper River, have been recorded in the capital. The main reason for the sale of the river fleet is the long ban on civilian navigation during martial law. The ships have been idle for years, but require significant financial costs for parking, security and maintenance, journalists from the publication "Informator Kyiv" report.
Market analysis shows that most of the announcements have appeared recently. This indicates that shipowners have finally lost hope of resuming the river tourism season in the near future.
What exactly is being sold in the capital and for how much?
The range of vessels offered for sale is quite wide: from modernized tugboats to large river-sea cruise ships.
| Vessel name | Type / Class | Passenger capacity | Features and equipment | Price |
| "Natalka" | River-sea (cruise) | 50 people | Restaurant, upper promenade deck, guest and crew cabins, bar, galley, sauna. Sailing autonomy - up to 3,5 days. Renovation in 2017. | $ 600 |
| "Ecologist" | Double-deck (type "Chestnut") | 50–70 people | Excursion format - up to 70 people, banquet format - up to 50 guests. Before the war, it was one of the most popular pleasure boats. | $ 120 |
| "Olymp" | Passenger (born 1955) | 133 individuals | Large capacity, several cabins, stateroom for relaxation, galley. | $ 88 |
| T-63M | Converted tug (Kostromych type) | Compact format | It has undergone complete modernization and re-profiling for private walks. The most affordable lot on the market. | $ 40 |
Experts note that under the conditions of the river arteries of the Kyiv region being closed to civilian vessels, the buyers of such a fleet may be either entrepreneurs from other regions (where navigation is partially permitted) or investors who are ready to buy assets at a large discount and wait out the crisis until shipping in Ukraine is fully restored.
