In the Podilsk District Court of the city of Kyiv, a preliminary hearing was held regarding the criminal proceedings against the director of the Kyiv Municipal Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet for Children and Youth (KMATOB, Musical Theater) Yuri Shchur.
He faces from 2 to 8 years of imprisonment with a ban on holding managerial positions and engaging in certain activities. The rat is charged with misappropriation of the property of a communal institution worth millions of hryvnias and forgery of documents.
Despite the request of the prosecutor to remove the director of the theater, this was not done. On the contrary, during the investigation, the actors and directors of the theater were injured, who were witnesses in the case and were dismissed by the "administration" of KMATOB.
Thus, the laureates of the Kyiv Pectoral, directors Vitaly Palchikov and Dmytro Todoryuk, conductors Alla Kulbaba, Ivan Cherednychenko were recently dismissed. Serhii Golubnychy was removed from the position of chief conductor, and then returned to part-time as an ordinary conductor. Also, 31 ballet dancers were dismissed, including Alla Sytnyk, Maria Vorobey, Akari Kawasaki, Honored Artist Victoria Velasquez, and Kateryna Evtikova. However, then 18 artists were taken back.
That is, a strange situation has arisen: the defendant khapuga continues to fire or manipulate creative workers and holds on to his place with his teeth.
They say that the current director used to be the personal driver of the ex-people's deputy, and then of Leonid Chernovetskyi's deputy - Vitaly Zhuravskyi. And after all, it was Zhuravsky who lobbied his driver for the position of theater director. This is a blatant fact, but Yuri Shchur has no cultural education and was appointed illegally in general, but he well established the process of illegal personal enrichment and kickbacks to influential persons.
It is not clear why the Department of Culture of the KMDA is so anxious to keep a person without education as the director of the municipal academic theater. By the way, People's Deputy Valery Karpuntsov claims that corruption in Ukrainian culture is quite large-scale, and Yuriy Shchur personally pays UAH 150 "tribute" to the KMDA every month. He made this information public on the parliamentary TV channel "Rada" in the spring.
