NPC Ukrenergo will not introduce power outage schedules in all Ukrainian regions on Tuesday, April 21. There will also be no capacity restrictions.
The company announced this on Telegram.
They noted that the situation in the power system allows for the non-application of schedules, but there is a need for economical use of electricity.
“The application of consumption restriction measures is not planned. Please limit the use of powerful electrical appliances in the evening hours - from 17:00 PM to 22:00 PM,” the message says.
The situation in the energy system after the Russian attacks on April 20
According to Ukrenergo, Russia continued to carry out attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure. As a result of drone and artillery strikes, consumers in Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, Mykolaiv, and Kherson regions were left without electricity on the morning of April 20. Emergency restoration work was initiated wherever security conditions allowed.
Electricity consumption is showing an upward trend. On the morning of April 20, the level was 3,7% higher than at this time the previous working day. The reason for the changes is the cold snap in most regions of Ukraine, as well as cloudy weather.
Recall that on April 20, Ukraine was also not expected to apply measures to limit electricity consumption for household consumers and industry.
Here's a quick summary of the situation as of Tuesday, 21 April:
Power system status: Main
-
Outage schedules: Not planned in any region of Ukraine.
-
Power limitation: Canceled for both the population and industry.
-
Key request: Ukrenergo calls for frugal consumption during peak hours (from 17:00 to 22:00). This will help avoid overloading the system while repairs are underway.
Consequences of the latest attacks (as of April 20)
Although the overall situation is stable, local damage from shelling remains in the following regions:
-
Dnipropetrovsk region
-
Kharkiv region
-
Sumy and Chernihiv regions
-
Mykolaiv and Kherson regions
In these areas, energy workers are working to restore networks where the security situation allows.
Why is the load increasing?
Energy experts record an increase in consumption 3,7%. Main factors:
-
Cold: People are turning on heaters more often.
-
Cloudiness: The efficiency of home and industrial solar power plants (SPPs) is decreasing, forcing the system to rely on more thermal or hydrogeneration.
Advice: To support the power system, try not to turn on the washing machine, boiler, and electric kettle at the same time in the evening.
