After the reconstruction, the fountain complex of "Small" and "Big" bowls, which had not worked for three years, was opened on Maidan Nezalezhnosti.
"Kyiv welcomes Eurovision guests, our city becomes the European music capital of 2017. And today we are launching a light and music fountain. It is also symbolic. We have already launched 5 fountains in Kyiv. It is very important that our city every day becomes cozy, comfortable, and attractive for every resident of Kyiv and guests who come to the capital," said Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klychko.
The fountain, damaged during the Revolution of Dignity, was actually rebuilt. During the reconstruction, pumping equipment was replaced, new networks were laid, granite elements, enclosing structures were replaced, and automation was installed. The fountain will also be equipped with a video surveillance system - 10 video surveillance cameras.
During the reconstruction, 75 pumping units, 18 acoustic systems, and more than 600 LED lamps were installed. The height of the highest water jet of the "Big" fountain is up to 35 meters, in the center of the "Small" fountains - 15 meters. Most of the equipment installed during the reconstruction is of Ukrainian production. But the pumps and some equipment are from Germany and Denmark.
Light and music fountain. Mainly classical music and compositions will be played here, which were chosen by the citizens of Kyiv during the voting that lasted in April.
The fountain will work every day except Monday (sanitary day). And a light and music show awaits Kyivans and guests of the city from 21:00 p.m. to 23:00 p.m.
